Celebrity Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEFGGHHIIJJKK LLBBMMKKNN

ON bridges small and bridges greatA
Stands Nepomucks in ev'ry stateA
Of bronze wood painted or of stoneB
Some small as dolls some giants grownB
Each passer must worship before NepomuckC
Who to die on a bridge chanced to have the ill luckC
When once a man with head and earsD
A saint in people's eyes appearsD
Or has been sentenced piteouslyE
Beneath the hangman's hand to dieF
He's as a noted person prizedG
In portrait is immortalizedG
Engravings woodcuts are suppliedH
And through the world spread far and wideH
Upon them all is seen his nameI
And ev'ry one admits his claimI
Even the image of the LordJ
Is not with greater zeal ador'dJ
Strange fancy of the human raceK
Half sinner frail half child of graceK
We see HERR WERTHER of the storyL
In all the pomp of woodcut gloryL
His worth is first made duly knownB
By having his sad features shownB
At ev'ry fair the country roundM
In ev'ry alehouse too they're foundM
His stick is pointed by each dunceK
The ball would reach his brain at onceK
And each says o'er his beer and breadN
Thank Heav'n that 'tis not we are deadN
