Book Of Timur - The Winter And Timur Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDCECCFBCGACGHECCI CGGJCGKECCCGL

So the winter now closed round themA
With resistless fury ScatteringB
Over all his breath so icyC
He inflamed each wind that blitheD
To assail them angrilyC
Over them he gave dominionE
To his frost unsharpened tempestsC
Down to Timur's council went heC
And with threat'ning voice address'd himF
Softly slowly wretched beingB
Live the tyrant of injusticeC
But shall hearts be scorch'd much longerG
By thy flames consume before themA
If amongst the evil spiritsC
Thou art one good I'm anotherG
Thou a greybeard art so I amH
Land and men we make to stiffenE
Thou art Mars And I SaturnusC
Both are evil working planetsC
When united horror fraughtI
Thou dost kill the soul thou freezesC
E'en the atmosphere still colderG
Is my breath than thine was everG
Thy wild armies vex the faithfulJ
With a thousand varying tormentsC
Well God grant that I discoverG
Even worse before I perishK
And by God I'll give thee noneE
Let God hear what now I tell theeC
Yes by God from Death's cold clutchesC
Nought O greybeard shall protect theeC
Not the hearth's broad coalfire's ardourG
Not December's brightest flameL
