Book Of Hafis - The Unlimited Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDE FE F G H H HG H II

THAT thou can't never end doth make thee greatA
And that thou ne'er beginnest is thy fateA
Thy song is changeful as yon starry frameB
End and beginning evermore the sameB
And what the middle bringeth but containsC
What was at first and what at last remainsC
Thou art of joy the true and minstrel sourceD
From thee pours wave on wave with ceaseless forceD
A mouth that's aye prepared to kissE
-
A breast whence flows a loving songF
A throat that finds no draught amissE
-
An open heart that knows no wrongF
-
And what though all the world should sinkG
-
Hafis with thee alone with theeH
-
Will I contend joy miseryH
-
The portion of us twain shall beH
Like thee to love like thee to drinkG
-
This be my pride this life to meH
-
Now Song with thine own fire be sungI
For thou art older thou more youngI
