A Symbol Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A B BA C D E ED F G H HG F

THE mason's trade Observe them wellA
-
Resembles life And watch them revealingB
-
With all its strife How solemn feelingB
Is like the stir made And wonderment swellA
-
By man on earth's face The hearts of the braveC
-
Though weal and woe The voice of the blestD
-
The future may hide And of spirits on highE
-
Unterrified Seems loudly to cryE
We onward go To do what is bestD
-
In ne'er changing race Unceasing endeavourF
-
A veil of dread In silence eterneG
-
Hangs heavier still Here chaplets are twin'dH
-
Deep slumbers fill That each noble mindH
The stars over head Its guerdon may earnG
-
And the foot trodden grave Then hope ye for everF
