The Two Goats Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDCDDDDDDDDDEFED GGDDHHIIJJKKLLDD

Two goats who self emancipatedA
The white that on their feet they woreB
Look'd back to noble blood of yoreB
Once quit the lowly meadows satedA
And sought the hills as it would seemC
In search of luck by luck they metD
Each other at a mountain streamC
As bridge a narrow plank was setD
On which if truth must be confestD
Two weasels scarce could go abreastD
And then the torrent foaming whiteD
As down it tumbled from the heightD
Might well those Amazons affrightD
But maugre such a fearful rapidD
Both took the bridge the goats intrepidD
I seem to see our Louis GrandD
And Philip IV advanceE
To the Isle of ConferenceF
That lies 'twixt Spain and FranceE
Each sturdy for his glorious landD
Thus each of our adventurers goesG
Till foot to foot and nose to noseG
Somewhere about the midst they meetD
And neither will an inch retreatD
For why they both enjoy'd the gloryH
Of ancestors in ancient storyH
The one a goat of peerless rankI
Which browsing on Sicilian bankI
The Cyclop gave to Galat aJ
The other famous Amalth aJ
The goat that suckled JupiterK
As some historians averK
For want of giving back in trothL
A common fall involved them bothL
A common accident no doubtD
On Fortune's changeful routeD
