The Jay In The Feathers Of The Peacock Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBCCCCDDEE FGFGCC

A
-
A peacock moulted soon a jay was seenB
Bedeck'd with Argus tail of gold and greenB
High strutting with elated crestC
As much a peacock as the restC
His trick was recognized and bruitedC
His person jeer'd at hiss'd and hootedC
The peacock gentry flock'd togetherD
And pluck'd the fool of every featherD
Nay more when back he sneak'd to join his raceE
They shut their portals in his faceE
-
There is another sort of jayF
The number of its legs the sameG
Which makes of borrow'd plumes displayF
And plagiary is its nameG
But hush the tribe I'll not offendC
'Tis not my work their ways to mendC
