The Horse And The Wolf Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABBBCCDDEEFFGHGHIJ IJKKLLMMKKKKNONOPPQQ

A wolf who fall'n on needy daysA
In sharp look out for means and waysA
Espied a horse turn'd out to grazeA
His joy the reader may opineB
Once got said he this game were fineB
But if a sheep 'twere sooner mineB
I can't proceed my usual wayC
Some trick must now be put in playC
This saidD
He came with measured treadD
And told the horse with learned verbsE
He knew the power of roots and herbsE
Whatever grew about those bordersF
He soon could cure of all disordersF
If he Sir Horse would not concealG
The symptoms of his caseH
He Doctor Wolf would gratis healG
For that to feed in such a placeH
And run about untiedI
Was proof itself of some diseaseJ
As all the books decideI
I have good Doctor if you pleaseJ
Replied the horse as I presumeK
Beneath my foot an aposthumeK
My son replied the learned leechL
That part as all our authors teachL
Is strikingly susceptibleM
Of ills which make acceptableM
What you may also have from meK
The aid of skilful surgeryK
The fellow with this talk sublimeK
Watch'd for a snap the fitting timeK
Meanwhile suspicious of some trickN
The weary patient nearer drawsO
And gives his doctor such a kickN
As makes a chowder of his jawsO
Exclaim'd the Wolf in sorry plightP
I own those heels have served me rightP
I err'd to quit my trade as I will not in futureQ
Me Nature surely made for nothing but a butcherQ
