The Grasshopper And The Ant. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCB DEDEFE DGDGDG DHDHIH

The Grasshopper singingA
All summer longB
Now found winter stingingA
And ceased in his songB
Not a morsel or crumb in his cupboardC
So he shivered and ceased in his songB
-
Miss Ant was his neighborD
To her he wentE
O you're rich from laborD
And I've not a centE
Lend me food and I vow I'll return itF
Though at present I have not a centE
-
The Ant's not a lenderD
I must confessG
Her heart's far from tenderD
To one in distressG
So she said Pray how passed you the summerD
That in winter you come to distressG
-
I sang through the summerD
Grasshopper saidH
But now I am glummerD
Because I've no breadH
So you sang sneered the Ant That relieves meI
Now it's winter go dance for your breadH
