The Glutton Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF

A STURGEON once a glutton famed was ledA
To have for supper all except the headA
With wond'rous glee he feasted on the fishB
And quickly swallowed down the royal dishB
O'ercharged howe'er his stomach soon gave wayC
And doctors were required without delayC
-
THE danger imminent his friends desiredD
He'd settle ev'ry thing affairs requiredD
Said he in that respect I'm quite preparedE
And since my time so little is declaredE
With diligence I earnestly requestF
The sturgeon's head you'll get me nicely dressedF
