The Dog And Cat Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEFGHH II

A dog and cat messmates for lifeA
Were often falling into strifeA
Which came to scratching growls and snapsB
And spitting in the face perhapsB
A neighbour dog once chanced to callC
Just at the outset of their brawlC
And thinking Tray was cross and cruelD
To snarl so sharp at Mrs Mew wellE
Growl'd rather roughly in his earF
'And who are you to interfere 'G
Exclaim'd the cat while in his face she flewH
And as was wise he suddenly withdrewH
-
It seems in spite of all his snarlingI
And hers that Tray was still her darlingI
