The City Mouse And The Country Mouse Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GEGEHH

A City Mouse with ways politeA
A Country Mouse invitedB
To sup with him and spend the nightA
Said Country Mouse De lightedB
In truth it proved a royal treatC
With everything that's good to eatC
-
Alas When they had just begunD
To gobble their dinnerE
A knock was heard that made them runD
The City Mouse seemed thinnerE
And as they scampered and turned tailF
He saw the Country Mouse grow paleF
-
The knocking ceased A false alarmG
The City Mouse grew braverE
Come back he cried No no The farmG
Where I'll not quake or quaverE
Suits me replied the Country MouseH
You're welcome to your city houseH
