The Bitch And Her Friend Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCDDEEFFGGHIJJ K LLMMNO

A
-
A bitch that felt her time approachingB
And had no place for parturitionC
Went to a female friend and broachingB
Her delicate conditionC
Got leave herself to shutD
Within the other's hutD
At proper time the lender cameE
Her little premises to claimE
The bitch crawl'd meekly to the doorF
And humbly begg'd a fortnight moreF
Her little pups she said could hardly walkG
In short the lender yielded to her talkG
The second term expired the friend had comeH
To take possession of her house and homeI
The bitch this time as if she would have bit herJ
Replied 'I'm ready madam with my litterJ
To go when you can turn me out '-
Her pups you see were fierce and stoutK
-
The creditor from whom a villain borrowsL
Will fewer shillings get again than sorrowsL
If you have trusted people of this sortM
You'll have to plead and dun and fight in shortM
If in your house you let one step a footN
He'll surely step the other in to bootO
