The Acorn And The Pumpkin Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFFE EEGHHG AAIJJI

Once there was a country bumpkinA
Who observed a great big pumpkinA
To a slender stem attachedB
While upon an oak tree nourishedC
Little acorns grew and flourishedC
Bah said he That's badly matchedB
-
If despite my humble stationD
I'd a hand in this CreationD
Pumpkins on the oaks would beE
And the acorn light and littleF
On this pumpkin stem so brittleF
Would be placed by clever MeE
-
Then fatigued with so much thought heE
Rest beneath the oak tree sought HeE
Soon in slumber found reposeG
But alas An acorn fallingH
On the spot where he lay sprawlingH
Hit him plump Upon the noseG
-
Up he jumped a wiser bumpkinA
Gosh he said Suppose a pumpkinA
Came a fallin' on my faceI
After all if I had made thingsJ
I'll allow that I'm afraid thingsJ
Might be some what out of placeI
