The Violet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

Down in a green and shady bedA
A modest violet grewB
Its stalk was bent it hung its headA
As if to hide from viewB
-
And yet it was a lovely flowerC
Its colors bright and fairD
It might have graced a rosy bowerC
Instead of hiding thereD
-
Yet there it was content to bloomE
In modest tints arrayedF
And there diffused its sweet perfumeE
Within the silent shadeF
-
Then let me to the valley goG
This pretty flower to seeH
That I may also learn to growG
In sweet humilityH
