To The Autumn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HIHI JBJB KLKL MNMN

Sweet Sabbath of the yearA
While evening lights decayB
Thy parting steps methinks I hearC
Steal from the world awayB
-
Amid thy silent bowersD
'Tis sad but sweet to dwellE
Where falling leaves and drooping flowersD
Around me breathe farewellE
-
Along thy sunset skiesF
Their glories melt in shadeG
And like the things we fondly prizeF
Seem lovelier as they fadeG
-
A deep and crimson streakH
Thy dying leaves discloseI
As on consumption's waning cheekH
'Mid ruin blooms the roseI
-
Thy scene each vision bringsJ
Of beauty in decayB
Of fair and early faded thingsJ
Too exquisite to stayB
-
Of joys that come no moreK
Of flowers whose bloom is fledL
Of farewells wept upon the shoreK
Of friends estranged or deadL
-
Of all that now may seemM
To memory's tearful eyeN
The vanish'd beauty of a dreamM
O'er which we gaze and sighN
