The Scene Around Me Disappears Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDEFEFFFGHIHIJJ KLGLGGGL

The scene around me disappearsA
And borne to ancient regionsB
While time recalls the flight of yearsA
I see angelic legionsB
Descending in an orb of lightC
Amidst the dark and silent nightC
I hear celestial voicesD
Tidings glad tidings from aboveE
To every age and nationF
Tidings glad tidings God is LoveE
To man He sends salvationF
His Son beloved His only SonF
The work of mercy hath begunF
Give to His Name the GloryG
Through David's city I am ledH
Here all around are sleepingI
A Light directs to yon poor shedH
There lonely watch is keepingI
I enter ah what glories shineJ
Is this Immanuel's earthly shrineJ
Messiah's infant TempleK
It is it is and I adoreL
This Stranger meek and lowlyG
As saints and angels bow beforeL
The throne of God thrice HolyG
Faith through the veil of flesh can seeG
The Face of Thy DivinityG
My Lord my God my SaviourL
