The Laurustinus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAACCDDAEAEFFGG

Fair tree of winter fresh and floweringA
When all around is dead and dryB
Whose ruby buds though storms are louringA
Spread their white blossoms to the skyA
Green are thy leaves more purely greenC
Through every changing period seenC
And when the gaudy months are pastD
Thy loveliest season is the lastD
Be thou an emblem thus unfoldingA
The history of that maiden's mindE
Whose eye these humble lines beholdingA
In them her future lot may findE
Through life's mutations may she beF
A modest evergreen like theeF
Though bless'd in youth in age more bless'dG
Still be her latest days the bestG
