Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDEEFG HBHBDDHHF

I saw thee young and beautifulA
I saw thee rich and gayB
In the first blush of womanhoodC
Upon thy wedding dayB
The church bells rangD
And the little children sangD
'Flowers flowers kis her feetE
Sweets to the sweetE
The winter's past the rains are goneF
Bless'd is the bride whom the sun shines on 'G
-
I saw thee poor and desolateH
I saw thee fade awayB
In broken hearted widowhoodH
Before thy locks were greyB
The death bell rangD
And the little children sangD
'Lilies dress her winding sheetH
Sweets to the sweetH
The summer's past the sunshine goneF
Bless'd is the corpse which the rain rains on '-
