How Precious Are Thy Thoughts Of Peace Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDFGG FHFHEE

How precious are thy thoughts of peaceA
O God to me how great their sumB
New every morn they never ceaseA
They were they are and yet shall comeB
In number and in compass moreC
Than ocean's sand or ocean's shoreC
-
How from thy presence should I goD
Or whither from thy spirit fleeE
Since all above around belowD
Exists in thine immensityF
I feel thine all controlling willG
And thy right hand upholds me stillG
-
Search me O God and know my heartF
Try me my secret soul surveyH
And warn thy servant to departF
From every false and evil wayH
So shall thy truth my guidance beE
To life and immortalityE
