Hail to the Lord's AnointedA
Great David's greater SonB
Hail in the time appointedA
His reign on earth begunB
-
He comes with succour speedyC
To those who suffer wrongD
To help the poor and needyC
And bid the weak be strongD
-
By such shall He be fearedE
While sun and moon endureF
Beloved obeyed reveredE
For He shall judge the poorG
-
Through changing generationsH
With justice mercy truthI
While stars maintain their stationsH
Or moons renew their youthI
-
He shall come down like showersJ
Upon the fruitful earthK
And love hope joy like flowersJ
Spring in his path to birthK
-
Before Him on the mountainsH
Shall peace the herald goL
And righteousness in fountainsH
From hill to valley flowL
-
With offerings of devotionB
Ships from the Isles shall meetM
To pour the wealth of oceansH
In tribute at his feetM
-
Kings shall fall down before HimN
And gold and incense bringO
All nations shall adore HimN
His praise all people singO
-
For He shall have dominionB
O'er river sea and shoreP
Far as the eagle's pinionB
Or dove's light wing can soarP
-
For Him shall prayer unceasingO
And daily vows ascendQ
His kingdom still increasingO
A kingdom without endQ
-
The mountain dews shall nourishR
A seed in weakness sownS
Whose fruit shall spread and flourishR
And shake like LebanonB
-
The tide of time shall neverT
His covenant removeU
His name shall stand for everT
That name to us is LoveV
