A Sweet Landscape Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEFGGHHIIJJ

Sweet was the scene apart the cedars stoodA
A sunny islet open'd in the woodA
With vernal tints the wild brier as thicket glowsB
For here the desert flourish'd as the roseB
From sapling trees with lucid foliage crown'dC
Gay lights and shadows twinkled on the groundC
Up the tall stems luxuriant creepers runD
To hang their silver blossoms in the sunD
Deep velvet verdure clad the turf beneathE
Where trodden flowers their richest odours breatheF
O'er all the bees with murmuring music flewG
From bell to bell to sip the treasured dewG
Whilst insect myriads in their solar gleamsH
Glanced to and fro like intermingling beamsH
So fresh so pure the woods the sky the airI
It seem'd a place where angels might repairI
And tune their harps beneath those tranquil shadesJ
To morning songs or moonlight serenadesJ
