The Second Sonnet Of Bathrolaire Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBABCBCBC

Now the sweet Dawn on brighter fields afarA
Has walked among the daisies and has breathedB
The glory of the mountain winds and sheathedB
The stubborn sword of Night's last shining starA
In Bathrolaire when Day's old doors unbarA
The motley mask fantastically wreathedB
Pass through a strong portcullis brazen teethedB
And enter glowing mines of cinnabarA
Stupendous prisons shut them out from dayB
Gratings and caves and rayless catacombsC
And the unrelenting rack and tourniquetB
Grind death in cells where jetting gaslight gloamsC
And iron ladders stretching far awayB
Dive to the depths of those eternal domesC
