Gravis Dulcis Immutabilis Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFEF GHGI JKJL

Come let me kiss your wistful faceA
Where Sorrow curves her bow of painB
And live sweet days and bitter daysC
With you or wanting you againD
-
I dread your perishable goldE
Come near me now the years are fewF
Alas when you and I are oldE
I shall not want to look at youF
-
And yet come in I shall not dareG
To gaze upon your countenanceH
But I shall huddle in my chairG
Turn to the fire my fireless glanceI
-
And listen while that slow and graveJ
Immutable sweet voice of yoursK
Rises and falls as falls a waveJ
In summer on forgotten shoresL
