Arms And The Man. - "the Marquis." Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFF GHCC

The Brave young Marquis second but to oneA
For whom he felt the reverence of a sonA
Rides at the head of his division proudB
A ray of Glory painted on the cloudB
Mad Anthony is there and Knox but whyC
Great names like battle flags attempt to flyC
Who sings of skies lit up by Jove and MarsD
Thinks not to chant a catalogue of starsD
I bow me low and bowing low I passE
Unnumbered heroes in unnumbered massE
While at their head in grave and sober stateF
Rides one whom Time has found completely greatF
Master of Fortune and the match of FateF
-
-
Then Tilghman mounted on these Plains of YorkG
Swift sped away as speeds the homing hawkH
And soon 'twas his to wake that watchman's cryC
That woke all Nations and shall never dieC
