My harp soon ceases but I here allegeA
Its strings are in my heart and tremble thereB
My Song's last strain shall be a claim and pledgeA
A claim a pledge a prayerB
-
I stand as stood in storied days of oldC
Vasco Balboa staring o'er bright seasD
When fair Pacific's tide of limpid goldC
Surged up against his kneesD
-
For haughty Spain her banner in his handE
He claimed a New World sea and plain and cragF
I claim the Future's Ocean for this landE
And here I plant her flagF
-
Float out oh flag from Freedom's burnished lanceG
Float out oh flag in Red and White and BlueH
The Union's colors and the hues of FranceG
Commingled on the viewH
-
Float out oh flag and all thy splendors wakeF
Float out oh flag above our Hero's bedI
Float out oh flag and let thy blazon takeF
New glories from the deadI
-
Float out oh flag o'er Freedom's noblest typesJ
Float out oh flag all free of blot or stainK
Float out oh flag the Roses in thy stripesJ
Forever blent againL
-
Float out oh flag and float in every climeM
Float out oh flag and blaze on every seaN
Float out oh flag and float as long as TimeM
And Space themselves shall beN
-
Float out oh flag o'er Freedom's onward marchO
Float out oh flag in Freedom's starry sheenP
Float out oh flag above the Union's archO
Where Washington is seenP
-
Float out oh flag above a smiling LandE
Float out oh flag above a peaceful sodQ
Float out oh flag thy staff within the handE
Beneficent of GodQ
