Herbert Glerbett Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCBBDDEEFFBB

Herbert Glerbett rather roundA
swallowed sherbet by the poundA
fifty pounds of lemon sherbetB
went inside of Herbert GlerbettB
With that glob inside his lapC
Herbert Glerbett took a napC
and as he slept the boy dissolvedB
and from the mess a thing evolvedB
a thing that is a ghastly greenD
a thing the world had never seenD
a puddle thing a gooey pileE
of something strange that does not smileE
Now if you're wise and if you're slyF
you'll swiftly pass this creature byF
it is no longer Herbert GlerbettB
Whatever it is do not disturb itB
