Deep In Our Refrigerator Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFD GHIHEJKJ LMN OPQP

Deep in our refrigeratorA
there's a special placeB
for food that's been around awhileC
we keep it just in caseB
'It's probably too old to eat 'D
my mother likes to sayE
'But I don't think it's old enoughF
for me to throw away 'D
-
It stays there for a month or moreG
to ripen in the coldH
and soon we notice fuzzy clumpsI
of multicolored moldH
The clumps are larger every dayE
we notice this as wellJ
but mostly what we noticeK
is a certain special smellJ
-
When finally it all becomesL
a nasty mass of slimeM
my mother takes it out and saysN
'Apparently it's time '-
She dumps it in the garbage canO
though not without regretP
then fills the space with other foodQ
that's not so ancient yetP
