The Hidden Room Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFFG HHIJJI KKLMML NNOJJO PPCDDC

I marvel if my heartA
Hath any room apartA
Built secretly its mystic walls withinB
With subtly warded keyC
Ne'er yielded unto meC
Where even I have surely never beenB
-
Ah surely I know allD
The bright and cheerful hallD
With the fire ever red upon its hearthE
My friends dwell with me thereF
Nor comes the step of CareF
To sadden down its music and its mirthG
-
Full well I know as mineH
The little cloister'd shrineH
No foot but mine alone hath ever trodI
There come the shining wingsJ
The face of one who bringsJ
The pray'rs of men before the throne of GodI
-
And many know full wellK
The busy busy cellK
Where I toil at the work I have to doL
Nor is the portal fastM
Where stand phantoms of the pastM
Or grow the bitter plants of darksome rueL
-
I know the dainty spotN
Ah who doth know it notN
Where pure young Love his lily cradle madeO
And nestled some sweet springsJ
With lily spangled wingsJ
Forget me nots upon his bier I laidO
-
Yet marvel I my soulP
Know I thy very wholeP
Or dost thou hide a chamber still from meC
Is it built upon the wallD
Is it spacious is it smallD
Is it God or man or I who holds the keyC
