Beside The Sea Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF AAGGAA HIHIJJ KHKHAA LMNNOO APAPQQ

One time he dream'd beside a seaA
That laid a mane of mimic starsB
In fondling quiet on the kneeA
Of one tall pearl'd cliff the barsB
Of golden beaches upward sweptC
Pine scented shadows seaward creptC
-
The full moon swung her ripen'd sphereD
As from a vine and clouds as smallE
As vine leaves in the opening yearD
Kissed the large circle of her ballE
The stars gleamed thro' them as one seesF
Thro' vine leaves drift the golden beesF
-
He dream'd beside this purple seaA
Low sang its tranced voice and heA
He knew not if the wordless strainG
Made prophecy of joy or painG
He only knew far stretch'd that seaA
He knew its name EternityA
-
A shallop with a rainbow sailH
On the bright pulses of the tideI
Throbb'd airily a fluting galeH
Kiss'd the rich gilding of its sideI
By chain of rose and myrtle fastJ
A light sail touch'd the slender mastJ
-
A flower bright rainbow thing he saidK
To one beside him far too frailH
To brave dark storms that lurk aheadK
To dare sharp talons of the galeH
Belov'd thou woulds't not forth with meA
In such a bark on such a seaA
-
First tell me of its name she bentL
Her eyes divine and innocentM
On his He raised his hand aboveN
Its prow and answ'ring swore 'Tis LoveN
Now tell she ask'd how is it builtO
Of gold or worthless timber giltO
-
Of gold he said Whence named asked sheA
The roses of her lips apartP
She paus'd a lily by the seaA
Came his swift answer From my heartP
She laid her light palm in his handQ
Let loose the shallop from the strandQ
