A Perfect Strain Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIHJKCK HLMLNOPOMQAQ

O BID the minstrel tune his harpA
And bid the minstrel singB
And let it be a perfect strainC
That round the hall shall ringB
A strain to throb in lady's heartD
To brim the warrior's soulE
As dew fills up the summer roseF
And wine the lordly bowlE
-
O let the minstrel's voice ring clearG
His touch sweep gay and lightH
Nor let his glittering tresses knowI
One streak of wintry whiteH
And let the light of ruddy JuneJ
Shine in his joyous eyesK
If he would wake the only strainC
That never fully diesK
-
O what the strain that woos the knightH
To turn from steed and lanceL
The page to turn from hound and hawkM
The maid from lute and danceL
The potent strain that nigh would drawN
The hermit from his caveO
The dryad from the leafy oakP
The mermaid from the waveO
That almost might still charm the hawkM
To drop the trembling doveQ
O ruddy minstrel tune thy harpA
And sing of Youthful LoveQ
