Rhyme Scheme: AAAAAABBCDCDAABB BDBDAABB

'Ithin the woodlands flow'ry gleadedA
By the woak tree's mossy mootA
The sheenen grass bleades timber sheadedA
Now do quiver under vootA
An' birds do whissle over headA
An' water's bubblen in its bedA
An' there vor me the apple treeB
Do lean down low in Linden LeaB
When leaves that leately wer a springenC
Now do feade 'ithin the copseD
An' painted birds do hush their zingenC
Up upon the timber's topsD
An' brown leav'd fruit's a turnen redA
In cloudless zunsheen over headA
Wi' fruit vor me the apple treeB
Do lean down low in Linden LeaB
-
Let other vo'k meake money vasterB
In the air o' dark room'd townsD
I don't dread a peevish measterB
Though noo man do heed my frownsD
I be free to goo abrodeA
Or teake agean my hwomeward roadA
To where vor me the apple treeB
Do lean down low in Linden LeaB
