There is no sin in longing | B |
As long as obsession is not damned | C |
Find and fight the river raging | B |
Squash the sturdy land | D |
- | |
For life is a journey full | E |
Of ever changing devotions | F |
Ironic as a waking lull | G |
Tugging your emotions | F |
- | |
Like the lights that beckon | A |
Guiding you in embrace | F |
What of the voices that reckon | A |
That begging is a mistake | H |

You played with the flame | I |
As you yourself is a fire | J |
No one is to blame | I |
But nature's last desire | J |

All it is a game of embers | F |
To keep each other ablaze | F |
Burning off of what one remembers | F |
Whilst thinking of their face | F |

Amber | J |

Crackle crackle like breaking bones | F |
The sound they make is cold | K |
But unlike the bluish tones | F |
The warmth is far too bold | K |

Hiss hiss like kindled wood | L |
Whose end is nearly to be | M |
But unlike the brittle bones would | L |
The flame dreams to be free | M |

The two lit dance to the night | N |
Like leaves to the wind | O |
If only life would make it bright | N |
Until the very end | P |

But the fuses live time bizarrely | G |
Chasing the clock oddly devout | Q |
One is put out prematurely | G |
What of the one still about | Q |

Hiss hiss like sparked wood | L |
Enjoined by the rest | R |
To look anew as others would | L |

You say to them you do not care | S |
For one's flame is theirs alone | T |
You shall not touch strands of their hair | S |

Your creed is yours to see through | U |
With promises igniting | B |
The reckless and the cautious you | U |
In your mind reveling | B |

That beauty is but a blessing and sin | V |
Death is just the end of a prose | F |
Woe is to tear as joy is to grin | V |
That love is to rear a thorny rose | F |

One fire lit amid the dark | W |
In the face of bitter plight | N |

Though some might view it damned | C |
You will face the currents storming | B |
Cursing and crying atop the sand | D |

Even if I turn into a lifeless specter | J |
My ashen wisps will love only you | U |

Poet's note: Sun Greets the Ghost Fires is an on-the-whim work inspired by thoughts I have been having within the last few years, as well as a spark of inspiration ignited by something I was reading yesterday. What fueled it is my thought on remarriage. However, because of my mistake (simply refreshing the site accidently, while editing), I lost my original train of thought and I do not feel like writing it again. Hopefully it can be found through reading the piece.
