Sit-at-home Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGFH IGJK LLMM NONO

Empty streets distraught zoneA
It's quiet and empty in all placesB
In fear and tears we walk aloneA
Forlorn looks on saddened facesB
-
One man jailed for a whole nationC
In solidarity we take our chainsD
And where he goes we march onE
In his loss we find our gainsD
-
What's become of the blood lettingF
Even the loudest of voices are silentG
They loot they destroy in profit gettingF
Dead bodies litter wherever they wentH
-
Seems like the devil has made east his encampmentI
Corpses and blood eaten and drank in sacramentG
I like the solidarity in our causeJ
We must fix our broken lawsK
-
This rollercoaster is a d j vuL
Now we sit at home me and youL
How long it'll last we don't knowM
A fearsome monster it will growM
-
After full circle it will turn aroundN
When it has reached it's full courseO
In all our land peace will aboundN
If in one accord fairness we endorseO

Poet's note: Eastern part of Nigeria has been in turmoil lately of some sort of discrimination and marginalization from a section of the country over them. Evey monday has been a sort solidarity demonstration, by way of sit-at-home protest,to get the authorities hear their voice and meet their demand for fairness, equity and justice. This poem depicts all that. Editing stage:
