from where I sit gazingB
my window talks to meC
and I see itA
forlorn misty and darkD
shades all grave and gloomyC
of natureE
starring trees skies and starsF

Even the echoesG
waft throughH
as emissariesI
chorusing in the nightly wavesJ
from a vigil near byK
adulation to heavensL
-
That I lie awakeM
this I mustA
and dance with my penN
in this moonless nightA

HomelandA
pavement of a fallen countryC
once great but diedA
weary and wretchedA
laid waste andA
leaving behindA
bewitched orphaned toddlersO
Yes Even soP
strangers in their own landsQ
that must seek refugeR
in foreign citiesI

Such is the new name of my nationU
like beadsV
we wear you round our necksW
to the admirationU
of the Ancient MarinerE
who scornsX
and takes to seaC
our hopes and dreams and creedA

in an endless swimming tideA
