| You draw pleasure in forsaking my fleshy heart | B |

| And I wouldn't desire from you to part | B |
| Am I not the same person you once loved dearly | A |
| If I am Why do you hurt me feeding me sorrow | C |
| Or is it because am no longer wealth I survive barely | A |
| Love me again give me strength to face tomorrow | C |
| The society mocks us and their love stir despair | D |
| You too have joined them to despise and lament | E |
| My hope hangs on a loss rope thy love impair | D |
| For how long will I tolerant your abuse and ill content | E |
| Am distort by my feeling her treachery deforms | F |
| Am lamed with her betrayal her love conforms | F |

Poet's note: A wrote this poem, two years ago after feeling betrayed and mistreated by my lover. The poem is a reminder of how people easily change when situations no longer suits them.
