The Makers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEAFG HIJKLMNG OPQRMBST

Who can remember back to the first poetsA
The greatest ones greater even than OrpheusB
No one has remembered that far backC
Or now considers among the artifactsD
And bones and cantilevered inferenceE
The past is made of those first and greatest poetsA
So lofty and disdainful of renownF
They left us not a name to know them byG
-
They were the ones that in whatever tongueH
Worded the world that were the first to sayI
Star water stone that said the visibleJ
And made it bring invisibles to viewK
In wind and time and change and in the mindL
Itself that minded the hitherto idiot worldM
And spoke the speechless world and sang the towersN
Of the city into the astonished skyG
-
They were the first great listeners attunedO
To interval relationship and scaleP
The first to say above beneath beyondQ
Conjurors with love death sleep with bread and wineR
Who having uttered vanished from the worldM
Leaving no memory but the marvelousB
Magical elements the breathing shapesS
And stops of breath we build our Babels ofT
