Style Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGAHAIJ KLCMNOAP

Flaubert wanted to write a novelA
About nothing It was to have no subjectB
And be sustained upon the style aloneC
Like the Holy Ghost cruising aboveD
The abyss or like the little animalsE
In Disney cartoons who stand upon a branchF
That breaks but do not fallG
Till they look down He never wrote that novelA
And neither did he write another oneH
That would have been called La SpiraleA
Wherein the hero's fortunes were to riseI
In dreams while his walking life disintegratedJ
-
Even so for these two booksK
We thank the master They can be readL
With difficulty in the spirit aloneC
Are not so wholly lost as certain worksM
Burned at Alexandria flooded at FlorenceN
And are never taught at universitiesO
Moreover they are not deformed by styleA
That fire that eats what it illuminatesP
