Poetics Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEEFG HIJKLMNO

You know the old story Ann Landers tellsA
About the houseife in her basement doing the washB
She's wearing her nightie and she thinks Well hellC
I might's well put this in as well and thenD
Being dripped on by a leaky pipe puts onE
Her son's football helmet whereuponE
The meter reader happens to walk throughF
and Lady he gravely says I sure hope your team winsG
-
A story many times told in many waysH
The set of random accidents redeemedI
By one more accident as though chaosJ
Were the order that was before the creation cameK
That is the way things happen in the worldL
A joke a disappointment satisfiedM
As we walk through doing our daily roundN
Reading the meter making things add upO
