Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHEFIJKLM| This admirable gadget when it is | A |
| Wound on a string and spun with steady force | B |
| Maintains its balance on most any smooth | C |
| Surface pleasantly humming as it goes | D |
| It is whirled not on a constant course but still | E |
| Stands in unshivering integrity | F |
| For quite some time meaning nothing perhaps | G |
| But being something agreeable to watch | H |
| A silver nearly silence gleaning a still | E |
| ness out of speed composing unity | F |
| From spin so that its hollow spaces seem | I |
| Solids of light until it wobbles and | J |
| Begins to whine and then with an odd lunge | K |
| Eccentric and reckless it skids away | L |
| And drops dead into its own skeleton | M |
