Has shifted to Potosi in MissouriA

The calculation employed by authoritiesC
In arriving at this dislocation assumesD

That the country is a geometric planeE
Perfectly flat and that every citizenF
-
Including those in Alaska and HawaiiA
And the District of Columbia weighs the sameG
-
So that given these simple presuppositionsD
The entire bulk and spread of all the peopleH
-
Should theoretically balance on the pointI
Of a needle under Potosi in MissouriA
-
Where no one is residing nowadaysD
But the watchman over an abandoned mineJ
-
Whence the company got the lead out and leftK
'It gets pretty lonely here ' he says 'at night '-
