Dear Charlie breathed a soldier	A
O comrade true and tried	B
Who in the heat of battle	C
Pressed closely to my side	B
I feel that I am stricken	D
My life is ebbing fast	E
I fain would have you with me	F
Dear Charlie till the last	E

It seems so sudden Charlie	F
To think to morrow's sun	D

I little dreamed this morning	H
