He Imploreth Merry For Other Unfortunate Beings. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB BACADAEAEA

Now heaven in mercy be kind to the wretchesA
Who stay on the earth like this Mrs MerdleB
-
More wretched than ever a wretch on the hurdleB
Was drawn by all England's official Jack KetchesA
More wretched if can be at church on a SundayC
A woman who worships than God more her dressA
Would be if she heard or e'en thought Mrs GrundyD
Would sneer at the set of a bonnet or tressA
Or say that she thought Miss Freelove's new patternE
Of laces or collars or yard flowing sleevesA
Looked more like the dress of a real Miss SlatternE
And not so becoming 's the first one of Eve'sA
