The Relapse Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEFGHGHIJIJKLKL MNONPLPL

My God how gracious art thou I had sliptA
Almost to hellB
And on the verge of that dark dreadful pitA
Did hear them yellB
But O thy love thy rich almighty loveC
That sav'd my soulD
And checkt their fury when I saw them moveE
And heard them howlF
O my sole comfort take no more these waysG
This hideous pathH
And I will mend my own without delaysG
Cease thou thy wrathH
I have deserv'd a thick Egyptian dampI
Dark as my deedsJ
Should mist within me and put out that lampI
Thy spirit feedsJ
A darting conscience full of stabs and fearsK
No shade but YewL
Sullen and sad eclipses cloudy spheresK
These are my dueL
But he that with his blood a price too dearM
My scores did payN
Bid me by virtue from him challenge hereO
The brightest dayN
Sweet downy thoughts soft lily shades calm streamsP
Joys full and trueL
Fresh spicy mornings and eternal beamsP
These are his dueL
