Love And Discipline Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAA AAA BBC DDD EEE FGF

Since in a land not barren stillA
Because Thou dost Thy grace distillA
My lot is fallen blest be Thy willA
-
And since these biting frosts but killA
Some tares in me which choke or spillA
That seed Thou sow'st blest be Thy skillA
-
Blest be Thy dew and blest Thy frostB
And happy I to be so crossedB
And cured by crosses at Thy costC
-
The dew doth cheer what is distressedD
The frosts ill weeds nip and molestD
In both Thou work'st unto the bestD
-
Thus while Thy several mercies plotE
And work on me now cold now hotE
The work goes on and slacketh notE
-
For as Thy hand the weather steersF
So thrive I best 'twixt joys and tearsG
And all the year have some green earsF
