Content Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED FGFGHIHI JKLKMNMNPEACE peace I know 'twas brave | A |
But this coarse fleece | B |
I shelter in is slave | A |
To no such piece | B |
When I am gone | C |
I shall no wardrobes leave | D |
To friend or son | E |
But what their own homes weave | D |
- | |
- | |
Such though not proud nor full | F |
May make them weep | G |
And mourn to see the wool | F |
Outlast the sheep | G |
Poor pious wear | H |
Hadst thou been rich or fine | I |
Perhaps that tear | H |
Had mourn'd thy loss not mine | I |
- | |
- | |
Why then these curl'd puff'd points | J |
Or a laced story | K |
Death sets all out of joint | L |
And scorns their glory | K |
Some love a rose | M |
In hand some in the skin | N |
But cross to those | M |
I would have mine within | N |
