Sonnet 10 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDDCEFEFGGWere I the poet laureate of the fairies | A |
Who in a rose leaf finds too broad a page | B |
Or could I like your beautiful canaries | A |
Sing with free heart and happy in a cage | B |
Perhaps I might within this little space | C |
As in some Eastern tale by magic power | D |
A giant is imprisoned in a flower | D |
Have told you something with a poet's grace | C |
But I need wider limits ampler scope | E |
A world of freedom for a world of passion | F |
And even then the glory of my hope | E |
Would not be uttered in its stateliest fashion | F |
Yet lady when fit language shall have told it | G |
You'll find one little heart enough to hold it | G |
