Sonnet 08 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDDCEEFGFGAt last beloved Nature I have met | A |
Thee face to face upon thy breezy hills | B |
And boldly where thy inmost bowers are set | A |
Gazed on thee naked in thy mountain rills | B |
When first I felt thy breath upon my brow | C |
Tears of strange ecstasy gushed out like rain | D |
And with a longing passionate as vain | D |
I strove to clasp thee But I know not how | C |
Always before me didst thou seem to glide | E |
And often from one sunny mountain side | E |
Upon the next bright peak I saw thee kneel | F |
And heard thy voice upon the billowy blast | G |
But climbing only reached that shrine to feel | F |
The shadow of a Presence which had passed | G |
