Sonnet 06 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFEGHH| I scarcely grieve O Nature at the lot | A |
| That pent my life within a city's bounds | B |
| And shut me from thy sweetest sights and sounds | B |
| Perhaps I had not learned if some lone cot | A |
| Had nursed a dreamy childhood what the mart | C |
| Taught me amid its turmoil so my youth | D |
| Had missed full many a stern but wholesome truth | D |
| Here too O Nature in this haunt of Art | C |
| Thy power is on me and I own thy thrall | E |
| There is no unimpressive spot on earth | F |
| The beauty of the stars is over all | E |
| And Day and Darkness visit every hearth | G |
| Clouds do not scorn us yonder factory's smoke | H |
| Looked like a golden mist when morning broke | H |
