Sonnet 02 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEEFFD

Most men know love but as a part of lifeA
They hide it in some corner of the breastB
Even from themselves and only when they restB
In the brief pauses of that daily strifeA
Wherewith the world might else be not so rifeA
They draw it forth as one draws forth a toyC
To soothe some ardent kiss exacting boyC
And hold it up to sister child or wifeA
Ah me why may not love and life be oneD
Why walk we thus alone when by our sideE
Love like a visible God might be our guideE
How would the marts grow noble and the streetF
Worn like a dungeon floor by weary feetF
Seem then a golden court way of the SunD
