A Trifle Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BB CC DD EE FF GG HH II

I know not why but ev'n to meA
My songs seem sweet when read to theeA
-
Perhaps in this the pleasure liesB
I read my thoughts within thine eyesB
-
And so dare fancy that my artC
May sink as deeply as thy heartC
-
Perhaps I love to make my wordsD
Sing round thee like so many birdsD
-
Or maybe they are only sweetE
As they seem offerings at thy feetE
-
Or haply Lily when I speakF
I think perchance they touch thy cheekF
-
Or with a yet more precious blissG
Die on thy red lips in a kissG
-
Each reason here I cannot tellH
Or all perhaps may solve the spellH
-
But if she watch when I am byI
Lily may deeper see than II
